September 22nd, 2023 (Los Angeles, CA) – Today, rising LA-based singer-songwriter, Noelle Sucks, shares her brand new single, “Ugly Ugly,” marking her first release through Graveboy Records, Insomniac and Emo Nite’s newest endeavor. Produced by frequent collaborator Joel Ferber, “Ugly Ugly” is an honest and unfiltered track that addresses the reality and turmoil faced when processing unhealthy relationships. Between the anthemic synth and compelling honesty, Noelle allows herself to look in the mirror and accept the past in order to change her future, ultimately leading to self acceptance.

“This song came from the depths of anger and frustration from a specific cycle I keep finding myself in with bad friends,” shares Noelle. “That being said, I was willing to accept my part in it all by looking in the mirror at a time I really didn’t want to. I hope people can scream the lyrics and feel the frustration leave their body, like I do. I feel like it sort of reclaims the meaning of the word “Ugly” a little bit, too. Owning the truth should be freeing, that’s how this song makes me feel.”
Earlier this year, Emo Nite and Insomniac announced the launch of Graveboy Records with Noelle Sucks among the names of their first signees. Emo Nite co-founders, TJ Petracca and Morgan Freedfirst came across Noelle’s music when they saw the music video for her song “Living Room of My Head,” where she sported an Emo Nite hoodie, and were instantly drawn to Noelle’s artistry. Shortly after they reached out to her, they came to find that Noelle was a fan and had been attending Emo Nite for years. Talk about a full circle moment!
Speaking on the signing, Emo Nite co-founders, TJ Petracca and Morgan Freed shared, “Noelle is an incredibly talented songwriter and visual artist. When we found her we couldn’t believe she was still unsigned. She is very prolific and has put out dozens of releases over the past few years. Noelle’s unique perspective as a filmmaker and songwriter are tied together inextricably. Every song she puts out has a beautiful visual component to it. We’re excited to help her blow up and reach the audience she deserves.”
Coming up, Noelle Sucks is set to play a live set in the Bardot at Emo Nite on Friday, October 6th in Los Angeles, CA. This will be her first performance at Emo Nite in front of a sold out crowd of 1500fans. In support of the release, Emo Nite will also be creating several experiential activations at the event themed around ‘Ugly Ugly’ to introduce Noelle and ‘Ugly Ugly’ to their captive community of die hard music lovers.
ABOUT NOELLE SUCKS
Noelle Sucks defies easy categorization, blending indie, shoegaze, pop, and rock into an emotional soundscape. Born into a musically talented family, Noelle found her own voice after experiencing a brush with death at 13 during a major surgery. Growing up with extremely spiritual views from her parents, the absence of any heavenly visions during that near-death experience challenged her long-held beliefs and transformed her perspective on life.
Recovery from her surgery in her teens sidelined her from school but sparked her creativity as she started conceptualizing music videos for existing songs and discovering her love for editing home-made videos. This passion led her to film school and, ultimately, back to music after a significant breakup at age 23 inspired her first song. She describes her early work as “catching up,” filling in gaps from her years spent in film and other pursuits.
Noelle’s Out of Orbit EP (2022) dove into the complexities from emotions stemming from of a friend-group breakup, featuring connections nurtured at Emo Nite, an event that has now come full circle with her signing to Emo Nite‘s new label, Graveboy Records. Her debut single “Ugly Ugly” releases on September 22, marking a significant milestone in a life marked by second chances and self-discovery.
